The WalkAide®- Functional Electrical Stimulation

The WalkAide is a computerized aide that helps in lifting the front part of the foot with patients that safer from weakness or paralysis of the muscles in the lower part of the leg.

This condition is called Drop Foot and will be significant with patients that suffer from Multiple sclerosis (MS), stroke (CVA), spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries and cerebral palsy (CP).

We have accumulated experience with patients from the age of 6 to 76 .

With many years of experience in neurological rehabilitation we find the WalkAide to be the most advanced solution and had very good results with it. We have fitted CP (cerebral palsy) children that have improved there walking abilities through the reduction of limitations (contractures) in rang of motion. A traumatic brain injury patient has experienced a much more dynamic walk, reduction of over all spasticity and an increasing in walking rang. A CVA hemiplegic patient said to us "now I know were my foot is without looking at it".

Not all patients fit the WalkAide, but with our experience in the rehabilitation of walking abilities, we can offer the patients that do not fit the WalkAide a variety to of solutions.
